DAR ES SALAAM, April 19 (Xinhua) Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan on Monday pledged her country s strengthened cooperation with the World Bank, saying the bank was a catalyst for economic development.
President Hassan made the remarks during talks with Mara Warwick, the World Bank s country director for Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe, at Chamwino State House in the capital of Dodoma, said a statement issued by the Directorate of Presidential Communications. The World Bank is supporting Tanzania in improving social services such as education and health, and in improving the infrastructure, said President Hassan, while urging the World Bank to continue working with Tanzania toward building an economy that will transform the east African nation s citizens welfare.
