Domestic flying to cost more February 12, 2021 DGCA raises minimum and maximum fares Domestic flying will become more expensive with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) enhancing the minimum and maximum fares that domestic airlines can charge in the seven categories into which domestic routes are divided. The increase is in the region of 10 per cent for a one-way fare at the minimum fare level for a flight of less than 40 minutes to about 30 per cent for a maximum fare for a flight of between 180-210 minutes. The revised fares will be charged from those passengers making bookings from Thursday.

share Low-cost airline SpiceJet expects to resume Boeing 737 MAX aircraft operations by March, a senior company official told CNBC-TV18. The energy-efficient and cost-saving aircraft has been grounded since nearly two years following safety concerns. While the aircraft has been approved by the US aviation regulator Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), it is yet to receive a nod from European aviation regulator European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The Directorate General of Civil Aviation will conduct its own checks and processes before granting permission to MAX to resume operations. However, I think DGCA is likely to start that process once the aircraft receives green signal from EASA, the official added.
