Emergency workers in San Luis Obispo County were given an extra dose of appreciation Thursday.
Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo and Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton, both part of Tenet Health Central Coast, hosted EMS Appreciation drive-thru barbecues.
âYou are true lifesavers, often putting you own life on the line to save others. Thank you, you are a vital part of our local community,â the flyer for the two-hour event stated.
The meal included a tri-tip or chicken sandwich, salad, dessert and a drink. Every once in a while, a firefighter will ride in on an ambulance and end up here and the staff here greets us with open arms because we help them make their job better in taking care of these patients and getting them better, said Morro Bay firefighter Grant Frempter, who enjoyed a meal at the Sierra Vista site.

Coach’s comment: In two games against Atascadero this week Seth averaged 13.5 points per game (highest for the team) while shooting 71.4% from the field. He also averaged 4.5 rebounds per game.

Coach’s comment: Audrey has stepped up to help lead our varsity team into the playoffs. She is energetic, creative, compassionate, but competitive. It has been such a joy to watch Audrey grow in our sport of tennis. She just gets better with every practice and match. Audrey has taken her knowledge of tennis and is now sharing that knowledge with our 3 JV players we have brought up to help Varsity in our playoffs. She is a wonderful person and a huge asset to our team.
