Mom and triplets survive rare complication and risky surgery
A couple in Nebraska raced to Houston for a life-saving, in-utero surgery to save their surprise triplets who are now thriving.
HOUSTON - A couple in Nebraska was shocked to find out they were having triplets. Then they learned there was a major complication that jeopardized their babies lives.
They raced to Houston for a life-saving, in-utero surgery. Their babies not only survived but are thriving.
Now, Wade and Sloane Hoefer are thankful for their greatest gift this holiday season - healthy children! They recently reconnected with their surgeon in Houston who helped save their babies to let him know just how well they re doing, now that they re three years old! I don t think we will ever be able to truly express that he was given the gift to be able to do the surgery and shared his gift with us, smiles Sloan.

Through all of this Roxanne and partner Chris Gadeke, also 27, leant on one another but their families could only offer support from afar because of Covid restrictions, which she said added to the pressure.

A woman who gave birth to triplets at 32 weeks after her 12th attempt at IVF and several miscarriages is looking forward to celebrating Christmas with her family.
Summer Preston, 42, gave birth to Otis, Rocco and Prince on May 18 in the middle of the Covid-19 lockdown.
While pregnant, Ms Preston, an estate agent, suffered from the life-threatening condition with Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS).

One baby was not getting enough blood and nutrients from the placenta and the others were getting too much. Left untreated, this meant they could suffer a stroke or die.
