(U.S. Army) 6 May 2021 The Army has launched a new marketing campaign featuring soldiers transformed into anime characters to tell their personal stories in support of an upcoming recruiting surge known as Army National Hiring Days 2021. The Calling is a series of short videos being aired on YouTube focused on five soldiers from difficult backgrounds. One begins with Army Reserve Spc. Jennifer Liriano narrating an anime-illustrated story of a frightening childhood memory. When I was four, my siblings and I watched my dad try to take his own life right in front of us, says Liriano, who grew up in a tough New Jersey neighborhood. The police were called, and they rescued him. I grew up wanting to help people like my father, people who are suffering.

4 PHOENIX U.S. Army recruiters in Arizona and New Mexico are hosting a virtual career fair May 10-June 14 as part of the military service’s second nationwide virtual hiring campaign. The Army National Hiring Days campaign, which launched as a virtual event in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, will run May 10-June 14 this year and includes up to $40,000 in signing bonuses or student loan reimbursement up to $65,000, depending on qualifications, selected occupation, and length of the service contract. Recruiting stations across the country will host virtual career fairs throughout the five-week campaign to provide information about the many career paths and benefits available and answer questions potential applicants may have about life in the Army.
