CHENNAI: Indian Army jawans deployed at high altitude could now heave a sigh of relief as a Chennai-based start-up started by three engineering graduates has tied up with BEML for joint development of Artificial intelligence (AI) based indigenous unmanned ground vehicle (UGV).

Amber Dubey, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt of India today said that the vision is for us (India) to be the drone hub of the world. “Atmanirbhar Bharat is no more a slogan. However, the bulk of the drone components require scale and right now the market in India is too small to give that scale. Volumes will only come through enabling DSR (Demand, Supply, Regulations),” he said.
New Delhi, January 14, 2021: Thales and Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), a Government of India enterprise, have signed a Teaming Agreement to work in partnership on the STARStreak Air Defence system with the support of both the Governments of India and the United Kingdom.
The Teaming Agreement was signed by Thales and BDL in the presence of UK and Indian Government representatives in a virtual ceremony on January 13th 2021.
The representatives from the UK who witnessed the signature included Jeremy Quin (Minister for Defence Procurement) and Mark Goldsack (Head of UK Defence & Security Exports). From India, the Director General Army Air Defence and representative from Army Design Bureau, Indian Army, witnessed the ceremony.

New Delhi [India], December 18 (ANI): Highlighting India s resolve and commitment towards joint Naval exercises, Lieutenant General Manoj Pande, Commander-in-chief, Andaman and Nicobar Command on Friday said that besides generating goodwill, joint exercises are a tool for projection of a nation s soft power.
Addressing a webinar on Changing Dynamics of Indian Ocean Region , Lt Gen Pande said, Besides generating goodwill, Joint exercises with foreign navies are also a tool for projection of a nation s soft power i.e culture, language, culture, customs and beliefs and help establish a unique spirit of bonding.
