BEIJING, May 9 (Xinhua) The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. - - - - TEHRAN Iran on Sunday reported 14,141 new COVID-19 cases and 386 more deaths, taking the total number in the country to 2,654,811 and the death toll to 74,910. A total of 2,109,702 people have recovered from the disease or been discharged from hospitals across the country, while 5,538 remain in intensive care units, said Sima Sadat Lari, spokeswoman of the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education. - - - - MOSCOW Russia reported 8,419 more COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the national tally to 4,880,262, the official monitoring and response center said on Sunday.

Tehran, May 8 : Iran on Friday reported 17,076 new Covid-19 cases, taking the country s total infections to 2,627,094.
The pandemic has so far claimed 74,241 lives in Iran, up by 335 in the past 24 hours, Sima Sadat Lari, spokeswoman of the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education, said during her daily briefing in the country.
A total of 2,074,089 people have recovered from the disease or been discharged from hospitals across the country, while 5,534 remain in intensive care units, said Lari.
The ministry said that 16,789,338 tests have so far been carried out across the country, the Xinhua news agency reported.

TEHRAN, May 8 (Xinhua) Iran reported on Saturday 13,576 new COVID-19 cases, taking the country s total infections to 2,640,670.
The pandemic has so far claimed 74,524 lives in Iran, up by 283 in the past 24 hours, the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education said in a written briefing published on its official website.
A total of 2,092,381 people have recovered from the disease or been discharged from hospitals across the country, while 5,545 remain in intensive care units, the ministry said.
The report added that 16,929,609 tests have so far been carried out across the country.
As of Saturday, 1,286,004 people in the country have received coronavirus vaccines, with 262,611 of them having gotten their second doses.
