CAIRO, April 5 (Xinhua) Iran s health ministry on Monday reported 13,890 new COVID-19 cases amid the spread of the mutated strain, raising the caseload to 1,945,964. Meanwhile, Iraq registered 6,423 new coronavirus cases, raising the total nationwide infections to 879,991.

Turkey reports record 44,756 daily COVID-19 cases, 4th wave hits Iran

Turkey on Saturday reported the highest daily count of 44,756 coronavirus cases. Meanwhile, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence has been registered in two provinces, reported Xinhua.
Among the new cases recorded in Turkey, 1,483 are symptomatic patients, and the tally of infections in the country reached 3,445,052, according to the country s health ministry.
The death toll from the virus in Turkey rose by 186 to 32,078, while the total recoveries climbed to 3,082,676 after 23,214 more cases recovered in the last 24 hours.

TEHRAN, April 1 (Xinhua) Iran reported 11,750 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, raising its nationwide caseload to 1,897,314.
The pandemic has so far claimed 62,759 lives in Iran, up by 94 in the past 24 hours, said Sima Sadat Lari, spokeswoman for the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education, during her daily briefing.
Of the newly infected, 1,371 were hospitalized, Lari added.
A total of 1,626,144 people have recovered from the disease and been discharged from hospitals, while 3,989 remain in intensive care units, she noted.
According to the spokeswoman, 12,893,137 tests for the virus have been carried out in Iran by Thursday.
