Live music isn t as out-of-reach this spring as you might think.
Nashville music fans can travel roughly 90 miles south to The Caverns in rural Grundy County, Tennessee, for a night of real-life live music. No livestream feeds, no Zoom screens just artists playing songs for in-person crowds likely hungry for a slice of normal entertainment.
Don t expect to trek down into this one-of-a-kind cave venue yet, though. Venue organizers at the Caverns go above ground this spring for a concert series at a new hillside amphitheater created last summer for socially-distanced concerts on The Caverns grounds.
Upcoming gigs include country storyteller Robert Earl Keen, troubadour Margo Price, bluegrass staple The SteelDrivers, singer-songwriter Grace Potter, Americana favorite Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors and more.

Before Robert Koritz readies his gear to hit the road with Dark Star Orchestra, he needs to ready his interviews of fellow musicians.
Thatâs because while he and the Grateful Dead tribute band are finally playing shows again, Koritz will continue to host his podcast, âThe Music Plays the Band.â
Koritz, who is Jewish and and co-chair of the Camp Sabra alumni committee, interviewed a pair of musicians for his latest episode of the podcast, which debuts today, April 8.
Reed Mathis is a virtuoso bassist who has been part of a number of different bands, including Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey; Tea Leaf Green; Billy & the Kids (with drummer Bill Kreutzman from the Dead); and most recently, his own band, Electric Beethoven.

For the first time since 2009, members of Dark Star Orchestra will reunite with DSO founding guitarist John Kadlecik as they merge into ‘Rocky Mountain Grateful Dead Revue’ for a four night stand in Denver, CO April 8 -11. With two socially-distanced shows per night, the performances are being live-streamed on Fans (www.fans.live) with single show, dual show and full weekend packages available.
