Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has been delayed on Switch and Xbox
If you were looking forward to finally being able to play
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout on Switch this summer, you’re going to have to wait a little longer. This morning, developer Mediatonic announced that the Switch and Xbox versions of
Fall Guys has been delayed, as the Summer 2021 release window is “just too soon.”
Recently, Mediatonic announced it had been purchased by Epic Games, which the developer says will allow it to enhance the experience for
Fall Guys players across all platforms. Unfortunately, this means that both versions won’t be ready for summer, though Mediatonic promises the wait will be worth it. In the meantime, they’ll be working on adding a bunch of new features, including the much-longed for crossplay ability.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, the world’s most adorable bloodsport, will unfortunately not be coming to Xbox or Nintendo Switch as soon as we were hoping chalk yet another game onto the “Delayed 2020/2021” list. But developers Mediatonic have assured users that it will use the time granted by the delay to add a number of features to the game, including crossplay.
Mediatonic announced the delay in a company blog post, citing the overwhelming amount of new tools that became available when it was purchased by Epic Games. In its own words: “With so many new opportunities now in our hands, we’ve realised that our previously announced Summer 2021 Switch and Xbox release schedule is unfortunately just too soon for us to include all of the tasty new features we’re working on.” I’m a little confused about how having a surplus of creative freedom means a game delay, but I’m so numb to game delays that I’ll just accept it.
Fall Guys Xbox and Switch versions delayed out of summer
Mediatonic recently announced that its blockbuster multiplayer platformer
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout would be finally hitting the Xbox and Switch platforms later this year, with the studio aiming for a summer launch. However, today it revealed that the summer launch window will not be met, saying that the schedule is unfortunately just too soon for us to include all of the tasty new features we re working on. While we want to launch on these platforms as quickly as possible, we believe the Switch and Xbox releases are really going to be worth waiting for and we’re super grateful for your patience, added the development team in its blog.
