Staind cancels Illinois State Fair stop
SPRINGFIELD (WSIL) Staind has cancelled their performance at the 2021 Illinois State Fair due to scheduling conflicts.
“We are disappointed that Staind will not be a part of our 2021 grandstand lineup,” said State Fair Manager, Kevin Gordon. “We are working on filling the spot and can assure you the grandstand will be rocking on opening night.”
Fairgoers will receive a full refund if COVID-19 prevents the Illinois State Fair from being held.

Grant Johnson said it was his brother, Mitchell Johnson, who started helping a family friend s daughter take care of Clydesdale horses.
Eventually, Grant Johnson s parents, Dennis and Linda Johnson of Springfield bought their first Clydesdale in 1990. The family stable, Linden Clydes, still has seven of the iconic horses.
Grant Johnson now works full-time for Anheuser-Busch-In Bev s eastern hitch of Clydesdales in Merrimack, New Hampshire, but he s back in Springfield this week for the 2021 National Clydesdale Sale that begins a three-day run at the Illinois State Fairgrounds beginning Thursday.
The sale is open to the public, Johnson said.
Johnson said his entire family, including another brother, Dustin from Morton, volunteers with the sale, which has a connection to Springfield and the fairgrounds going back to the mid-1980s.
Bill deadline approaches in House, Senate
Expect a flurry of activity out of each chamber of the Illinois Legislature.
Today is the deadline for House bills to pass the House onto the Senate and for the Senate to pass Senate bills to the House. The House Thursday passed 180 bills. The Senate passed 75 bills.
Both chambers have a May 31 deadline to pass legislation to the governor with just simple majorities.
