The crash happened about 5:15 p.m. Saturday in the 2900 block of West Logan Boulevard when a red pickup truck jumped a curb and went up onto the grass median between inner and outer Logan Boulevard before hitting at least one adult pedestrian, a woman, according to Chicago Fire Department Chief Walter Schroeder and police spokesman Anthony Spicuzza.

Timothy Nielsen, of the 2400 block of North Campbell Avenue, was charged with four felony counts of attempted first degree murder, police said in a statement. Police said Nielsen was arrested at around 5:17 p.m. on Saturday in the 2900 block of West Logan Boulevard after he intentionally jumped a curb in his vehicle and drove at a group of pedestrians gathered for a picnic.

Man facing attempted murder charges after running over group having Logan Square picnic By FOX 32 Digital Staff Published  Timothy Nielsen | Chicago police CHICAGO - A man is facing four counts of attempted first-degree murder after he intentionally jumped a curb and struck a woman with his car Saturday in the Logan Square neighborhood, police said. Timothy Nielsen, 57, was arrested at the scene in the 2900 block of West Logan Boulevard. Police said Nielsen deliberately drove his car over the curb at a group of people having a picnic.  A 42-year-old woman was struck by his car and dragged, sustaining serious injuries. She was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center by ambulance.
