A 25-year-old Uptown man is accused of fatally stabbing his boyfriend with a box cutter during a fight about sex earlier this month.
Marquez Haggard is charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of D’Andre Tatum, 45, who was stabbed to death at Haggard’s apartment in the 1200 block of West Argyle Street, the Cook County prosecutors said Thursday.
The pair were in a sexual relationship since last summer, prosecutors said. Haggard allegedly told police that they began fighting Jan. 9 when he told Tatum that he wanted to invite a third person to his apartment for sex.

Four people were shot Tuesday in Chicago, including a man who shot Irving Park on the Northwest Side.
Someone walked up to the 22-year-old and fired shots at him about 5:45 p.m. as he stood outside in the 4100 block of North Keystone Avenue, Chicago police said. The man was struck in the face, arm and hip, and taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious condition.
A woman was critically wounded in a double shooting in the Humboldt Park in the Northwest Side. A man and woman were in the front of a home when shots rang out about 2:20 p.m. in the 1000 block of North Ridgeway Avenue, according to police. The woman, 37, was shot in her head while the man, 56, was struck in his calf. They were taken to Stroger Hospital, where the woman was listed in critical condition and the man was listed in good condition.

Marquez Haggard faces a count of first-degree murder in the Jan. 9 stabbing of Dandre Tatum, Chicago police said Wednesday.
Police arrested Haggard Monday in Uptown after investigators identified him as the suspect who stabbed Tatum in the 1200 block of West Argyle Avenue, police said.
Tatum of Englewood died Saturday at Illinois Masonic Medical Center from complications of stab wounds to his arm, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. The 41-year-old’s death was ruled a homicide.

He was shot by someone inside a passing Honda Odyssey about 4:45 a.m. in the 4100-block of West Irving Park Road, Chicago police said. The man, shot in his legs, was driven to Community First Hospital and was set to be transferred to Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Police said he was pronounced dead about 7 a.m. He was identified as Ramon Gonalez-Borrego of Melrose Park, the Cook County medical examiner s office said.
