PETALING JAYA: The Opposition, including DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang, should respect the decision of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to declare a state of emergency, which is in line with the Federal Constitution.
MCA Youth s Civil Society Movement Coordination Bureau chief Heng Zhi Li said Lim should nominate himself as a panellist in the Independent Special Committee on the Emergency if he really wanted to contribute.
He said Lim would then be able to assist the nation and contribute solutions to lower the number of positive Covid-19 cases.
Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had announced that they intended to legally challenge the Emergency proclamation and also called on MPs to appeal to the King to review his decision.
PETALING JAYA: The government must find ways to educate and prepare Malaysians to be vaccinated against Covid-19, says MCA Youth.
MCA Youth Civil Society Movement Coordination Bureau Chairman Heng Zhi Li said surveys showed that about 30% of respondents were unsure or unwilling to receive the vaccination. The government should find strategies and use channels to clearly disseminate the government s overall plans, deadline and targets, so that the rakyat are psychologically prepared. Meanwhile, the government could also open up voluntary vaccination applications to reduce long queues, waiting in anxiety and confusion, he said in a statement on Friday (Jan 8).
He added that measures to convey the right information are important as there were people amplifying reports of its side effects leading to eroded public confidence.
