He spoke as if he did not know that the calm was broken by a terrorist organization and by no one else, and that what prevents Palestinians from having freedom, prosperity and democracy is precisely that they are ruled by terrorists and people who supports terrorism.

Gaza death toll rises as clashes spread

Israeli planes yesterday renewed airstrikes in Gaza, and Hamas militants responded by firing rockets into Israel as their battle entered a fifth night, and US and Arab diplomats sought an end to the violence.
Palestinian health officials said that at least 12 people were overnight killed in airstrikes throughout Gaza. The officials said that a woman and her three children were among the dead after their house was hit in a refugee camp.

A diplomatic source familiar with efforts to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas said Friday that the sides could come to an agreement within days, amid intensive efforts to halt nearly a week of deadly conflict.
The source, who spoke to The Times of Israel on condition of anonymity, said mediators had expressed cautious optimism for a halt within days of fighting between the Israel Defense Forces and Gaza-based fighters led by the Hamas terror group.
