(RNS) For more than 70 years, peace between Palestinians and Israelis has eluded the most dedicated and experienced negotiators, and the conflict continues to claim victims on both sides. Therefore, before plunging into another attempt, the Biden administration would be well advised to take a step back and learn the lessons of this bleak history.
Florida Jewish couple turns 100 years old together and celebrates 80th anniversary

(JTA) -A Jewish couple in Florida is celebrating two hefty milestones together this year: 100 years of life, and 80 years of marriage.
Lou and Edith Bluefeld, of Boca Raton, have known each other since they were 16. They ran a kosher catering business that served visiting U.S. presidents and helped to kosher the White House kitchen. They also cooked for former Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin when he was in Washington, D.C., for the 1978 Egypt peace accord announcement, according to a South Florida Sun-Sentinel report.

JNS.org – Former Israeli minister Benny Begin announced on Thursday that he is joining Gideon Sa’ar’s New Hope Party as a candidate for the Knesset in Israel’s upcoming March 23 elections, the party said in a statement.
Begin, the son of the late Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, is a former minister and Likud Knesset member.
Sa’ar, a longtime member of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party, left the Likud on Dec. 8 to form his own party with the aim of challenging Netanyahu for the premiership.
Welcoming Begin, Sa’ar said, “Former Minister Benny Begin will be a very important addition to the campaign for the future of the country. It is important that Israel will be able to benefit from his rich experience, his wisdom, his judgment and the values he represents.”
