MUSCAT: The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources on Thursday took part via video conferencing in the international conference on Food Safety in the GCC states, held in Saudi Arabia.
The two-day event sees the participation of GCC agriculture under-secretaries, experts and academics from international, regional and local universities, scientists from research centres, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the World Bank, the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
The Sultanate s delegation is headed by Dr Ahmed Nasser al Bakri, Under-Secretary for Agriculture.

AMMAN. KAZINFORM Ambassador of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Toumatov held a meeting with Minister of Agriculture of Jordan Khaled Hneifat, the Kazakh MFA’s press service reports. Related news During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture, including the prospects for expanding trade turnover between the two countries. In this regard, it was agreed to invite proactively representatives of the agricultural sector to participate in a business forum scheduled for the middle of this year within the 5th Meeting of the Kazakh-Jordanian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation.
