Rawalpindi, Feb 3 : Pakistan Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa said Pakistan is a peace loving country that had rendered great sacrifices for regional and global peace. He also emphasised that Pakistan and India should resolve the Jammu and Kashmir issue in a dignified manner.
Gen Bajwa said this while congratulating the graduating cadets at PAF Academy on Tuesday, the Geo TV reported.
The graduation ceremony of 144th GD (P), 90th Engineering Course and 100th AD courses was held at Pakistan Air Force (PAF) academy Asghar Khan and Bajwa was the chief guest on the occasion, said the Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a press release.

RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa Tuesday said Pakistan stood firmly committed to the ideal of mutual respect and peaceful co-existence but anybody or any entity will not be allowed to misinterpret its desire for peace as a sign of weakness.
He was addressing the graduation ceremony of 144th GD (P), 90th Engineering Course and 100th AD courses held at the PAF Academy Asghar Khan, Risalpur.
Chief of Air Staff Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan was also present.
General Bajwa said Pakistan was a peace-loving country that rendered great sacrifices for regional and global peace.

The National Assembly witnessed a noisy session on Wednesday as the government presented the 26th constitutional amendment bill in the lower house that seeks open balloting in the Senate elections.
Minister for Law and Justice Farogh Naseem presented the bill amid loud sloganeering and protest by the opposition benches. We are amending the Constitution, not stealing the election, the minister said while responding to the opposition s criticism.
Speaker Asad Qaiser invited Naseem to speak about the salient features of the bill, but he could hardly do so due to the ruckus before the speaker announced a recess.

Govt tables bill in NA to change Senate elections procedure
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - An amendment bill, aimed at changing the procedure of Senate elections, has been tabled in the National Assembly. The opposition protested against the bill and tore up copies of the agenda.
The opposition also accused Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser of bias and said that the opposition has been cast aside in parliamentary proceedings for the past two years. Members said the House belongs to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, not PTI.
Federal Law Minister Barrister Farogh Naseem introduced the bill for 26th amendment in the constitution during Wednesday’s session. “This amendment is being introduced to allow Senate elections through open ballots and to allow dual nationals to run in the elections”, he said.
