The Springboard, Your Virtual University, a radio programme of Joy FM, has commenced a new series which it has titled, ‘My Top Ten’.
The new series seek to find out the most important principles or lessons that undergird the lives of accomplished people and even more importantly, the experiences that led them to those lessons.
This is to help guide the youth who may wish to walk in the path of these accomplished entrepreneurs and business leaders.
Taking his turn on the maiden edition of the series, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Margins Group, Mr Moses K. Baiden, said he started his first business at the age of 23 with just US$100 dollars from his father’s garage.

A report by Jobberman Ghana on the impact of COVID-19 on jobs in Ghana has indicated that over 244,000 firms have adjusted their business models as a result of COVID-19 which led to the imposition of some restrictions.
These companies are now relying on digital solutions such as mobile money and the internet for sales transactions
Speaking on the Springboard, Your Virtual University, a radio programme on Joy FM, the Chief Executive Officer of Jobberman Ghana, Mr Kwaku Agbesi, said “we noticed that lots of companies were going through challenges during the COVID-19 period, a lot of them did not know how to navigate their way through so we tried to put together a guideline document to help them.

Before COVID-19, there was already pressure on organisations to do things differently and according to the 2017 Deloitte Global Human Capital Trends, as many as 88 per cent of organisations admitted that there was the need to review the way they worked and operated.
Also, the World Economic Forum 2020 Future of Jobs Report also noted that 94 per cent of business leaders expect employees to pick up new skills on the job; with around 40 per cent of companies expecting their workers to acquire this re-skilling within the next six months or less.
On the flipside, the PwC Workforce for the Future Report has also indicated that about 73 per cent of the workforce think technology can never replace the human mind.

A report by the Mckinsey Global Institute in 2017 indicated that 14 per cent of the global labour force, which translates to approximately 375 million people, need to transition to new occupational areas or categories and learn new skills all together to stay employed.
Very often and in recent times, people tend to associate the changing nature of the world of work to the CoVID19 pandemic but this report, which was released in 2017, way before the outbreak of COVID-19, noted that the world of work was fast changing already due to the upsurge in technology and automation.
