A 24-year-old woman was at home when two men came knocking on the door, according to a release from Akron police. After opening the door, one of the men asked her if her husband was home. She said no. The victim tried to shut the door after being questioned about a husband, but the suspects forced their way in, police said.

Officers responding to the scene gave the men medical help until paramedics arrived. A 43-year-old man taken to Summa Akron City Hospital died of his wounds, police say. A 27-year-old man was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening wounds. Police say the two men were shot in the area of Mercer Avenue and Stoner Street, but they have no suspects.

Akron police said after showing the pharmacist the note, the suspect handed over a bag and received pills, the amount and type of which aren’t known.
