The revered monarch, regarded as head of Muslims in Nigeria, spoke on Thursday when he led a NSCIA delegation to Buhari at the State House.
He urged the government to deal decisively with the banditry in Zamfara, Katsina, Sokoto and some parts of the North Central.
Abubakar expressed confidence that security forces, with better synergy, would overcome present challenges.
He urged governors to cooperate with the federal government irrespective of their political leanings, and urged Nigerians to support the new leadership of the armed forces.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), yesterday, urged Nigerians to urgently rescue the country from collapse on account of the “incompetent, uninspiring and lethargic leadership of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.”
It described the President’s New Year address to the nation as “empty and directionless,” insisting that the speech confirmed that Nigeria had become a country without a leader.
In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party stated that the President’s speech underscored the urgent need for Nigerians to come together and salvage the nation from heading towards a failed state.
Insecurity: Cleric seeks community leaders involvement in intelligence gathering

A cleric, Sheikh Jamiu Bello, on Saturday, called for the active participation of community leaders in intelligence gathering to enhance security in the country.
Bello, the Chief Imam of Ado-Ekiti and President-General, League of Imams and Alfas in the South-West, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ado-Ekiti.
The Islamic cleric also urged the public to continue to intensify their support and prayers for the leaders in finding lasting solutions to the security challenges facing the nation.
According to him, there is the need to adopt a more tactical approach, in the form of intelligence gathering and proactive measures to contain the perpetrators of the heinous acts in their own game.

Leaders of Nigeria’s two leading political parties, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as well as the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), are to converge on Abuja on Tuesday for the public presentation of a book with the title, “Dear President Goodluck Jonathan (An Open Letter),” written by a Nigerian journalist and former Managing Editor of the Daily Times Newspaper, Bonaventure Phillips Melah.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by Dr. Solomon Arase, a former Inspector General of Police and Chairman of the book presentation organizing committee, Dr. Reuben Abati, a former Presidential spokesman would review the book while Alhaji Bala Muhammed, Governor of Bauchi State would the chairman of the programme.
