Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], January 15 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Congress Chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir and fellow party workers on Friday staged a demonstration in Jammu in support of the farmers agitation going at the Delhi border against the farm laws. Today we had organised a peaceful protest against the new farm laws which is against the interests of the farmers. Farmers have taken to the streets (at the Delhi border areas) seeking justice. Now, the government has tried to disperse this peaceful protest here (Jammu), Ahmed Mir told ANI.

New Delhi [India], January 15 (ANI): Samyukta Kisan Morcha, the platform of protesting farm unions, on Friday claimed that more farmers from other states are scheduled to join the ongoing farmers protests at and around Delhi borders.
Today s meeting remained inconclusive as farmers were demanding the repealing of the farm laws and representatives of the government were suggesting the amendments. The next meeting is scheduled for January 19.

The ninth round of talks between the Centre and the protesting farmers over the new farm laws held on Friday, January 15, at the Vigyan Bhavan concluded with no developments and the next meeting will be held on January 19.
The government and the farmers could not reach a resolution before the lunch break.
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said ahead of the meeting, The government welcomes the Supreme Court order regarding farmers agitation. The government will put forth its views before the committee (appointed by the court). We are trying to resolve the issue through dialogue.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Friday said that the Centre will present its side to the Supreme Court-appointed committee, when asked.
Earlier, the ninth round of talks between the Union government and farmers protesting against the three agricultural laws ended without any resolution. The next meeting was scheduled for January 19.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Kisan Union (Lok Shakti) spokesperson Shailesh Kumar Giri said members of the Supreme Court-appointed panel of experts, known to support farm laws in the past, should follow Bhupinder Singh Mann and not be on the “wrong side of history”. Mann has recused himself from committee, saying he did not wish to compromise farmers’ interests.
