MADISON, Wis. (WKBT) – The Wisconsin Elections Commission received a 2020 Clearinghouse Award from the U.S. Election Assistance Commission for improving accessibility for voters with disabilities.
This is the second time the WEC has received one of the awards, commonly referred to as “Clearies,” which the EAC launched in 2016 to promote best practices in elections. The EAC, in turn, is under the auspices of the Help America Vote Act of 2002, a clearinghouse for election administration information.
The WEC received its first Clearie in 2019 for outstanding innovations in elections for its cybersecurity training series intended to secure the statewide election database, known as WisVote.

SIDNEY – The Shelby County Board of Elections certified and accepted the final ballots for the May special election during its Monday morning meeting on March 15.
The May 4, 2021, special election will only have two issues on ballots for voters to consider, said Director Pam Kerrigan. The first issue is an earned income tax levy for the Sidney City School District, and the second is a property tax levy for the Houston Ambulance District. Twenty-one of the county’s 35 precincts will be open for the May special election.
