Acting Chief Justice Ravi Malimath and
Justice Alok Kumar Verma issued notices to the Central and the State Government, and fixed the matter for hearing on 22
nd February, 2021.
The development came after several Delhi-based lawyers wrote to the Chief Justice, urging him to take appropriate action in the interest of natural environment and conservation of wildlife.
Any attempt to further destroy the already extremely deteriorated natural environment in the fragile ecosystem of the beautiful State of Uttarakhand can be prevented by timely intervention of the aware citizenry, the letter read.
Terming this decision of the Uttarakhand State Wildlife Board to be reckless , the Advocates wrote,

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], December 23 (ANI): The Uttarakhand High Court on Tuesday suspended Dehradun District Judge Prashant Joshi on charges that he used his official District Judge board in a private car while he travelled to Mussourie to attend the camp court on December 21 and 22.
The High Court said that a First Information Report (FIR) is registered against the car s owner Kewal Krishan Soin and attached Joshi with District Judgeship s headquarter Rudraprayag.
The order, dated December 22, 2020, said: Prashant Joshi, District Judge, Dehradun, against whom a disciplinary proceeding is contemplated, with regard to following charges, is put under suspension with immediate effect.

The charges against Joshi reads that he was supposed to use his official vehicle to attend the camp court at Mussoorie on December 21 and December 22, but he travelled from Dehradun in a private vehicle. Updated: December 23, 2020 7:47:18 am
As per the office memorandum, during the period of suspension and until further orders, Joshi shall remain attached with the District Judgeship’s headquarter Rudraprayag and he shall not leave the station without obtaining prior permission of the Hon’ble Court.
