Court questions State government decision to close majority of the roads connecting Kerala in Dakshina Kannada district to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday termed “ridiculous” the action of the authorities to close majority of the roads connecting Kerala in Dakshina Kannada district to prevent the spread of COVID-19 when people from Kerala can enter Karnataka through other districts.
The court asked how the State government can compel people from Kerala, even if they have RT-PCR negative reports, to travel extra distance to enter Dakshina Kannada district by keeping only four roads open of the 27 roads connecting Kerala with the district when the Centre’s guidelines mandate keeping open the roads connecting State borders.

The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday adjourned hearing till March 18 on a petition filed by film actor Kangana Ranaut challenging an order of a trial court in Tumakuru district directing the police to register a criminal case against her based on a private complaint filed by a lawyer alleging that her tweet on protest against farm laws amounts to inciting violence.

The High Court of Karnataka has advised the Ministry of Finance and the Reserve Bank of India to have a re-look into the norms of One Time Settlement Scheme (OTS) for banks to recover loans while questioning why payment of only 70% of the secured portion of loan under OTS is demanded even when more amount could be realised from the pledged assets.
In one of the cases, Engineering Analysis Centre of Excellence Pvt. Ltd, a resident Indian end-user of shrink-wrapped computer software, directly imported from the United States of America.
