Mr. Abdülhamit Gül Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mr. Fahrettin Koca Geneva-Paris, January 15, 2021 Honourable Court, The Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders, a partnership of the World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT) and FIDH writes to express its deep concern over the ongoing judicial harassment and arbitrary detention of Dr. Serdar Küni, and to call for an immediate end to such acts of harassment, which seem to be aimed at punishing Dr. Küni for his human rights work. A prominent physician and human rights defender, Dr. Küni is the Cizre Representative of the Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (TİHV) and President of the Şırnak Medical Chamber. Dr. Küni is an exemplary medical professional who has been practicing human rights-based medicine in Cizre district, Şırnak province, for more than 20 years.
