WWE Provides Kevin Owens Storyline Injury Update

WWE SmackDown ended in spectacular fashion this week as Kevin Owens was thrown from the ThunderDome s audience set by Roman Reigns. Owens was sent crashing through a table on the floor below, a table which he was previously going to put Jey Uso through following their main event match. The show went off the air with Owens layed out on the Tropicana Field floor.
WWE has provided a storyline update today on Owens injuries:
After the attack by Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Jey Uso on Friday Night SmackDown, Kevin Owens was taken to a local medical facility where he was diagnosed with a spinal contusion and bruised kidneys.

The New Year’s Day edition of WWE SmackDown on FOX will air live tonight from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida as the Road to the Royal Rumble continues.
WWE has announced that tonight’s show will feature Universal Champion Roman Reigns making a special request of WWE Management. This has to do with Reigns’ recent wins over Kevin Owens.
WWE has announced two matches for tonight’s show. New WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E will face King Baron Corbin in non-title action, while Bayley and Carmella will take on Bianca Belair and SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks.
WWE has announced a couple of additions to the lineup for the New Year s Day episode of SmackDown.
WWE is hyping that Universal Champion Roman Reigns has made a special request of WWE Management ahead of this week’s SmackDown. Reigns retained his Universal Championship against Kevin Owens in a steel cage match on SmackDown last week. The steel cage match was announced after Jey Uso got involved throughout Reigns and Owens tables, ladders, and chairs match at TLC. Uso again got involved in the steel cage match, handcuffing Owens to the cage so that Reigns could get the win.
