A profound and deep sadness enveloped the nation this week following the discovery of 215 children’s unmarked graves at a former Residential School in Kamloops, B.C., as announced by Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation.
Hundreds of children’s shoes mounted into a memorial outside of the Alberta Legislature on Monday. Many municipalities across Canada, including Strathcona County, lowered flags to half-mast for 215 hours in remembrance.
