The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations is hopeful this year will bring lasting commitments to prevent youth suicides in its communities.

Vice-chief David Pratt said the size and form of that commitment is still not defined but he is optimistic that details and dollar figures can be hashed out in the coming months. He said the goal is to secure five-year funding for positions and programming.
