Taxpayer and business advocates agreed that cutting Iowa’s income tax could boost the economic recovery from the effects of the pandemic, which slowed Iowa’s economy, said Tom Sands, president of the Iowa Taxpayers Association.
For the 2021 legislative session, the association will work with the governor’s office and legislators to enact more tax cuts at the corporate level.
“And on the individual level, obviously, because a lot of smaller businesses have to file through or pay their taxes anyway, through the individual income tax levels,” Sands said.

Leaders from places like the DECC are anticipating financial relief, specifically through the Save Our Stages Act and the Payroll Protection Program.

FARGO One Fargo bar could face a warning, fine or temporary liquor license revocation for continuing to violate occupancy and mask mandate rules put in place to try to control the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fargo Police Chief Dave Zibolski wouldn t name the bar, but he told the Fargo City Commission on Monday night, Dec. 28, that three violation reports on the establishment would be turned over to the city s liquor control board for action.
