WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - A new Covid-19 Payroll Protection Program Bill was passed by the U.S. Congress on Dec. 22, to help provide aid to small businesses.
“PPP is the one that most people are looking at that most people are eligible for have questions about it’s been expanded you know to make sure that money is getting closer to small businesses,” said Walter Lambert, CARES Business Consultant, America’s SBDC at MSU Texas.

TEMPLE, Texas There is still plenty to unpack in the new 5,593-page stimulus/relief bill lawmakers passed Monday. Once the president signs it, however, there are at least three pieces of the bill that could affect central Texans right away.

Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin told CNBC on Monday the new checks could be coming out as soon as next week. People are going to see this money at the beginning of next week, Mnuchin said. I suspect it is needed in a short period of time and I think this will take us through the recovery.

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - It has been nearly eight months since the last COVID-19 relief package, but congress has finally reached a $900 billion deal, and economic professor at Texas Tech University Michael Noel helps break it down.
“Even though it is a trillion dollars, it is only a drop in the bucket for what this economy currently needs,” Noel said.
Who will get a stimulus check and for how much?
Individuals who make less than $75,000 a year or couples who make $150,000 a year will receive six hundred dollars for each person and each dependent. For every hundred dollars someone makes above $75,000, the value of the stimulus check will go down by five dollars.
