On May 25 the Oldham County Planning Commission approved a preliminary proposal by Canfield Development to build 94 homes on 217 acres of land in Prospect. The homes will be located on both sides of the intersection of Rose Island Road and Harmony Village Road and along Riverside Drive.
I do not support this residential development because of the proposed use of 94 septic systems in areas that experience periodic flooding, because of environmental concerns such as wellhead protection, and proposed use of retention ponds for subdivision storm water runoff management since these ponds will be subjected to seasonal flooding from Little Huckleberry Creek and the Ohio River.
