Cable TV Co. Can t Pull Plug On EEOC Sex Harassment Suit
Law360 (March 16, 2021, 3:47 PM EDT) A Georgia federal judge ruled Tuesday that cable TV operator Mediacom must face a U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission lawsuit alleging it didn t do enough to protect a class of female workers who said a male colleague sexually harassed them and made them feel like prey.
U.S. District Judge Hugh Lawson rejected Mediacom s October 2019 motion for summary judgment, saying the EEOC had laid out a gender discrimination and hostile work environment case that a jury should hear.

Restaurant General Manager Sexually Harassed Women, Including Teen Workers, Federal Agency Charges
BALTIMORE – Koerner Management Group, Inc., doing business as IHOP (KMG), a Virginia based corporation that owns 12 IHOP restaurant franchises, subjected women, including teen workers, to sexual harassment, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) agency charged in a lawsuit it announced today.
According to the EEOC’s lawsuit, a manager at KMG’s IHOP restaurant in Frederick, Md., subjected a group of female employees to unwanted advances and touching, including asking teen workers to show their breasts to him and exposing himself to a teen worker. The manager also made sexual comments about female employees’ attire and bodies, called them by denigrating sexual epithets, asked intrusive questions about their personal relationships, and showed one teen worker an explicit sexual video. The DOJ sued Mobile County Sheriff Sam Cochran and his office Wednesday
The suit claims they discriminated against female staff members by subjecting them to a sexually hostile work environment at the Mobile County Metro Jail
Cochran and his office allegedly failed to take action to tackle the harassment including inmates exposing themselves, masturbating and making threats
12 female corrections officers lodged sexual discrimination charges in 2015 demanding a huge payout but Cochran refused to settle
The case was referred to the DOJ which is now seeking compensation for women
Cochran vowed to fight the suit and insisted several changes had already been made to working conditions in recent years
