Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act conference report Friday. McConnell’s office said the Senate vote marks the 60th consecutive year Congress has passed the defense policy bill, noting that provisions in the legislation benefit Kentucky’s service members, military installations, and defense programs. In the release, McConnell stated “the Senate has continued rebuilding and modernizing the world’s greatest fighting force to protect Americans, our interests, and our allies. I was proud to vote in support of our men and women in uniform and their families. This legislation is a victory for Kentucky’s role in our national security.
