Spot gold was up 0.3% at $1,781.75 per ounce by 0056 GMT, after hitting its highest since Feb.25 at $1,783.55 on Friday. U.S. gold futures edged 0.2% higher to $1,783 per ounce.
The dollar index was languishing near a one-month low against its rivals, making gold less expensive for other currency holders.
Benchmark U.S. 10-year Treasury yields edged lower towards multi-weeks low touched last week. Low bond returns reduce the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding bullion.

The Blues are now out of the playoffs, but 13 games remain, so they need to lace up the skates, and get to work! The weather here turned chilly, and I received a freeze warning for Tuesday night here… Crazy April weather! Back in the day… I was appointed by the football coach to go with a couple of my teammates and attend a banquet and accept our trophy for winning the PHL football Championship the previous fall… It was April and it snowed a few inches, that night, making the drive home a little treacherous given I was driving my dad’s station wagon that night! CHICAGO, April 19 (Reuters) - Following are U.S. trade
expectations for the opening of grain and soy complex trading at
the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) at 8:30 a.m. CDT (1330 GMT) on
Monday.
WHEAT - Up 3 to 5 cents per bushel CBOT wheat rises on weaker dollar and spillover
support from higher corn and soy. Additional support from higher
wheat prices in Europe and the Black Sea region and on stronger
demand for wheat as an animal feed. CBOT s most active wheat contract climbed to $6.63
per bushel in overnight trading, its highest since March 3. Russian and Ukrainian wheat export prices rose with higher
