Ethiopia reports 573 new COVID-19 cases

4:38 AM MYT ADDIS ABABA, Jan.3 (Xinhua) The Ethiopian Ministry of Health on Sunday reported 573 new COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, as the total number of confirmed cases hit 125,622 in the country. The ministry also disclosed that the number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country reached 1,948 as of Sunday evening, including four new COVID-19 related deaths reported during the last 24-hour period. The ministry further said that some 112,367 patients who tested positive for COVID-19 had recovered, including 42 in the last 24-hour period. It also said that some 11,305 of the total reported COVID-19 cases were active cases, of which 239 of the patients were said to be under severe condition.

5:14 AM MYT ADDIS ABABA, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) The Ethiopian Ministry of Health on Sunday evening reported 451 new COVID-19 cases, as the total number of confirmed cases hit 122,864. The ministry also disclosed that the number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country reached 1,909 as of Sunday, including eight new COVID-19 related deaths reported during the last 24-hour period. The ministry added that some 109,293 patients who tested positive for COVID-19 had recovered, including 1,024 in the last 24-hour period. According to the ministry, the new cases were discovered out of 4,639 COVID-19 medical tests that were conducted in the east African country during the last 24 hours.
