KCR project to now be looked after by Pakistan Railways Pakistan Sat, Jan 09, 2021 The Karachi Circular Railway project will now be looked after the Pakistan Railways, according to a decision announced by the federal government on Saturday. This reverses the decision by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) to hand over the project to the Sindh government. According to Geo News, the decision was reversed on the recommendation of the secretary of the Cabinet Division. Therefore, all upgradation and operation work of the Rs739 billion project has been assigned to the Ministry of Railways. Earlier, due to objections put forth by the ministry, the project had been handed over to the Sindh government.

For the purpose, as many as 10 unnecessary steps, out of 24, were abolished to encourage investment in the petroleum sector. Recounting the government achievements in the oil and gas sector, a senior official privy to the petroleum sector developments told APP that the PD started importing Euro-5 standard petrol and diesel for the first time in the country s history.

Once constructed, the dam will supply 35 million gallons of water to the residents of Rawalpindi and its adjoining areas every day. PDMA prepares winter contingency plan 2020-21

Peshawar December 26, 2020 PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Friday prepared the winter contingency plan 2020-21 as the province faces a range of natural hazards in the winter season. The natural hazards mentioned in the plan included winter hazards of extreme low temperature, fog, smog, snowfall, rainfall, landslides flashfloods, seismic activity along the mountainous north and west. According to Director General PDMA Parwaiz Khan natural disasters caused massive losses to people’s life and livelihoods, which retarded economic growth. “Under this contingency plan, the department would make efforts to minimize the losses likely to be caused by the natural disasters,” he said.

A large number of youths participated in the event held on Sunday morning. The participants were given orientation on the importance of Mountains and were involved in seed ball activities. The participants of the hike and visitors witnessed the beautiful pictures of Pakistani Mountains, landscape, culture, and people of mountains. Ahsan Sadiq Additional Director General FIA was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He appreciated the interest of youth in health activities n stressed the need to involve more and more youth in hiking, trekking and climbing activities.
