Friends of Hungary Founder Baron William de Gelsey Passes Away At 100
Baron William de Gelsey (Báró Gelsey Vilmos) has passed away at the age of 100. One of the founders of the Friends of Hungary Foundation, Baron Gelsey lived a life of achievement, faith, and community service. Among his many undertakings as an economist and banker, he was the chairman of Gedeon Richter’s board of directors, and became a permanent honorary chairman of the company in 2017.
William de Gelsey was born in 1921 in Vienna to Marguerite and Henry de Gelsey. He was a descendent of the Gutmann family, who, after their involvement in spurring Hungary’s transport business during the industrial period, received the status of nobility and the name Gelsey in 1869, as well as the title of barony in 1904.
Tayler optimistic about Nexeo parent s deal for Distrupol

Like most of the world, Nexeo Plastics President and CEO Paul Tayler is looking forward to better things in 2021.
In Tayler s case, his optimism is tied to Nexeo parent One Rock Capital Partners LLC acquiring European resin distributor Distrupol. Nexeo, a resin distributor based in The Woodlands, Texas, had competed with Chertsey, England-based Distrupol in some parts of Europe.

William (Bill) H. Powell, age 75, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2021 due to complications from Covid-19. He was born Oct 20,1945 in Baltimore, Maryland, to Kathleen and Richard Powell.
Bill was a top executive in the specialty chemicals industry until his retirement in 2006. He spent a major portion of his career with National Starch and Chemical Company in Bridgewater, New Jersey, managing a series of divisions as a corporate, group and executive vice president before being named chairman and CEO in 1999. In addition, he was a board member, director or chairman of several other corporations and organizations, including Imperial Chemical Industries, Arch Chemicals, the American Chemistry Council and the Corn Refiners Association. After his retirement, he served as chairman of the board of the Granite Construction Company, a board member of FMC Corporation and PolyOne Corporation.
