Man pleads not guilty in officer assault case

William Matthew Dalton PCDC A Eubank man accused of injuring three deputies as they tried to stop a domestic incident has pleaded not guilty to all charges. William Matthew Dalton, 50, was arraigned May 20 in Pulaski Circuit Court on three counts of third-degree Assault of a Police/Probation Officer and one count of second-degree Unlawful Imprisonment in connection to the altercation which happened nearly a year ago. Dalton was arrested by the Pulaski County Sheriff s Office the night of June 18, 2020, after PCSO Sergeant Kyle Wilson responded to a home on Ky. 934 to check on a woman who had texted a friend that she needed help. When Sgt. Wilson arrived, according to PCSO, Dalton was at the front of the residence but would not open the door. The woman inside was calling for help and indicating for Sgt. Wilson to go to the back door.

The 25-year-old, Pulaski County resident is committed to caring for and being with his family and friends as much as possible. However, it wasn t long ago that Jacob s health prevented him from spending this cherished time with the people he loves the most. In August 2020, Jacob was hospitalized at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for three weeks because he was septic, severely dehydrated and his kidneys were shutting down. His care team and surgeon, Dr. Michael Citak were able to pinpoint the cause of his illness as diverticulitis. Diverticulitis is the infection or inflammation of pouches, called diverticula, that form inside the intestines. The pouches generally are not harmful; however, diverticulitis can be severe, potentially causing massive infection or perforation of the bowel. In Jacob s case, surgery would have to be performed on three perforations

Jones joins sheriff s race

PCSO Lt. Bobby Jones Picasa The number of candidates hoping to be the next sheriff of Pulaski County has grown to three. Detective Lieutenant Bobby Jones of the Pulaski County Sheriff s Office announced this week that he s running for the office, joining retired Kentucky State Police Post 11 Commander Todd Dalton and PCSO Captain Troy McLin. Sheriff Greg Speck s decision not to run for a third term opened the door for Jones to attempt his first political campaign. The lieutenant added that he d been approached by several people encouraging him to run for the office, which like other county and city posts, will be decided by voters next year.
