Cut trees will be collected and reused as natural fish habitat at area lakes. Remove all decorations from the trees. Collection sites available 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday include Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road; Canfield Township Fire Department, 5007 Messerly Road; Poland Township Road Department, 7508 Clingan Road; Youngstown CCA (former South Branch Library), 1771 Market St.; and Struthers city will be a curbside pickup collection. Wrapping paper and greeting cards can be recycled at area drop off sites or with curbside recycling.

Woodland Wednesdays workshop to look at combating invasive species

The Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District announced that the Woodland Wednesdays workshop series will return Jan. 13, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for Wicked Weeds, a virtual homeowner invasive species removal workshop. Invasive species impact all of us and there s no better time than the new year to commit to make a positive change, the conservation district stated in a news release. The online presentation will discuss problematic invasive plants and techniques on how to remove them.
