WarGames within US-Israel Alliance: Iron Dome in Persian Gulf CentCom Chief in Tel Aviv, Mossad in Washington – Veterans Today | Military Foreign Affairs Policy Journal for Clandestine Services

“Our goal was to deter a war.” This is what General Kenneth Frank McKenzie, commander of CentCom, the central command of the US Army in the Middle East said. But if on the one hand the senior officer believes that relations between United States and Iran are in a “period of opportunity” on the other hand does not reveal the Pentagon’s secret projects in the Persian Gulf and the Mediterranean Sea. His statements released to journalists during a recent air trip and reported by the American specialized site Defense One, in fact, do not reveal the background of the agreement between Washington, Tel Aviv and the countries of the Arabian Peninsula with which Israel has stipulated, in the last weeks of the administration of Donald Trump, the “Abrahamic Agreements” in memory of the historic Abrahamic tribes that are the common religious denominator between Muslims, distant descendants of the Ismaili of Abraham’s son, and the Jews of the most important patriarch of the Old Te

Boxed-in Turkey tries to rekindle ties, but Israel can now play hard to get

(Turkish Presidency via AP, Pool) For over a decade, Turkey has been one of Israel’s most bitter critics on the international stage. Anti-Israel rhetoric from top officials, led by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, verged on the apoplectic, and Ankara also took actions that angered officials in Jerusalem, most notably providing support for the Hamas terror group. Erratic or Strategic Clarity : What to make of Trump s Middle East legacy?

Danielle Pletka (Senior Fellow, American Enterprise Institute) Danielle Pletka (photo credit: AEI, courtesy) The Trump presidency represented a watershed for the Middle East, a completely unexpected transformation. Pre-Trump, the region remained largely static, with accepted wisdom guiding both Democratic and Republic presidents to a series of similar policies. In retrospect, that willingness to accept the conventional, academic platitudes about how to best manage Middle East policy was foolish. Doing the same thing time and again and expecting different results may not be the definition of insanity in policy, but it is surely the definition of incompetence and laziness. Most observers can repeat the mantras of those failed policies: The road to peace in the Middle East runs through Ramallah (Jerusalem); Sunnis and Shiites (and Jews) can never work together; the Arab world will never accept a Jewish state; Iran and Saudi Arabia must “share” the region and more.
