COLUMBUS, Ohio A 20-year-old woman was killed and a 16-year-old boy was injured in a shooting on the east side of Columbus Monday night.
Officers were called to the 6100 block of East Livingston Avenue near Brice Road around 11 p.m.
Police found two people shot.
Osjahnique Eugia Nicole Giles was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital where she died.
The teenager was taken to a local hospital and police said he is expected to recover from his injuries.
Police said the shooting happened on East Livingston Avenue near I-270, just west of where the woman and teenager were found.
A South Side man was killed Monday night after being shot while sitting in a drive-thru line on the city s East Side.
Columbus police said Ldarrin O Neal, 19, was in the drive-thru line at Thirsty s Drive-Thru, located at 4027 E. Livingston Ave., around 9:55 p.m. Monday when the shooting happened.
Police said O Neal was waiting in a vehicle behind a maroon, four-door hatchback with fog lights.
At some point while the two vehicles were in line, two men got out of the hatchback and approached O Neal s car. A struggle occurred and shots were fired. The two men then fled the scene in the hatchback, police said.
Woman killed in East Side shooting, blocks from earlier homicide
Columbus police are investigating whether the death of a woman found shot on the 6100 block of East Livingston Avenue is related to a homicide that occurred a few blocks away earlier in the night.
Officers were called to the 6100 block of East Livingston Avenue, near Brice Road on the city s East Side, around 11 p.m. on a report of the shooting.
They found two people who were shot inside a vehicle at a gas station, but the shooting did not occur at the gas station.
One of the people, identified as Osjahniqu Giles, 20, of the South Side, was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital, where she died at 11:30 p.m.
