Free bail for policewoman who allegedly tried to shoot âcheatingâ husband

Johannesburg â The Free State policewoman who was accused of shooting at her âcheatingâ husband has been released on warning at the Ficksburg Magistrateâs Court.
Constable Mampho Olga Sekoto, 31, was arrested on Tuesday by Independent Police Investigative Directorate officers after she discharged an official firearm at her husband, who she accused of cheating.
Sekoto had been on duty, patrolling with a colleague, when her husband stopped by their police vehicle to speak to her.
She had checked her husbandâs phone and it is alleged that the policewoman then confronted the husband, accusing him of cheating. During the argument, she allegedly drew her firearm and fired shots in the husbandâs direction.
A Mount Fletcher police officer, 29, has been arrested for allegedly shooting his girlfriend during an argument and lying about it to police investigators.

An Eastern Cape policeman has been arrested for misleading law enforcement about an attempt on the life of his girlfriend.
The officer was taken into custody on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old officer, from Mount Fletcher in the Eastern Cape, was arrested after police discovered that is was him who attempted to kill his girlfriend.
Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) spokesperson Ndileka Cola says the woman was shot and wounded last week.
“It is alleged that the officer shot and wounded his girlfriend on the 5 May, claiming she had been wounded during an attempt to rob them.”
Man gets life imprisonment for raping daughter, 13, on way to bus stop

Cape Town – A 33-year-old man has been sentenced to life imprisonment in the Mount Fletcher Regional Court in the Eastern Cape for raping his 13-year-old daughter.
The incident occurred on July 28 last year while the 13-year-old was walking with her father to the bus stop at Zingonyameni location.
’’They then proceeded with their journey to town and upon their return, the young girl informed her friends about what happened earlier,“ the SAPS said in a statement on Friday.
’’The following day the matter was reported to the police and the accused was arrested and appeared in the Mount Fletcher Magistrate s Court.
