Pakistan Covid: PIA airlifts 1 million vaccine doses from China

Two special planes and a PIA regular flight were used to airlift the vaccine doses from China.
Three planes of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) carrying a consignment of one million doses of Covid-19 vaccine left here on Sunday for Pakistan as the country sees sharp increase in new coronavirus cases.
Another consignment of two million doses of Covid-19 vaccine will also be transported from China by the national flag carrier on April 29, Qadir Bux Sangi, PIA Country Manager for China told APP.

The court also gave them another two years in jail for consuming narcotics.
Two young men, who were caught selling hashish worth Dh1,000 to an undercover police officer in Abu Dhabi, will spend the rest of their lives in jail.
The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court of First Instance handed down the life in jail sentence to the men after they were found guilty of possessing and dealing drugs.
The court also gave the Asian men another two years in jail for consuming narcotics. One of the men will be jailed for another month for driving under the influence of drugs.
UAE: Mobile app to help abuse victims to be launched

A mobile application will be launched in the UAE to support victims of abuse.
Shamsaha, a Bahraini-based non-profit organisation, that offers 24X7 crisis support for victims of abuse and domestic violence, will be launching the app there before rolling it out in the UAE by the third quarter of 2021.
The mobile app will provide information and resources on women’s health and survivor support tools for victims and the general public. It will also streamline scheduling and communication between over 100 volunteers (who speak more than 20 different languages) as well as the registration of events and workshops.

India is currently witnessing a second wave of the Covid pandemic with the infections and deaths seeing a record spike every day.
Sundar Pichai on Monday announced that Google would provide 1.35 billion rupees (Dh66 million) in funding to aid India’s covid crisis.

In a tweet, the Indian-origin Google and Alphabet CEO said that the funding would go to UNICEF and GiveIndia to help provide medical supplies, support high-risk communities and toward grants to help spread critical information about the virus.
