Tamil movie comedian and Padma Shri recipient Vivekh passed away on Saturday at a private hospital here. He was 59.
He was admitted to SIMS Hospital on Friday morning after showing acute coronary syndrome with cardiogenic shock .
Vivekh who was in a critical condition was put on Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) support, the hospital said.
Vivekh was brought to the emergency ward of the hospital in an unconscious state at about 11 a.m. on Friday by his family members, the hospital said.

Haffkine has over the years developed many vaccines including anti-rabies and anti-venom serums and oral polio vaccines.
The Indian government has granted permission to state-owned Haffkine Biopharma Corporation, Mumbai, to produce Covaxin, an anti-Covid-19 vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech.
Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, who has been urging prime minister over the past few weeks for clearing the proposal, thanked Narendra Modi for approving the project. The permission was given after the recommendations of an expert committee.
Haffkine is a Maharashtra government owned company and has over the years developed many vaccines including anti-rabies and anti-venom serums and oral polio vaccines.

Six Indians in the UAE got lucky when they jointly won a lucky draw worth one million dirham.
The six participants, five of them from Kerala, matched five out of six numbers to split the 1,000,000 dirhams (approximately USD 2,72,000) second prize.
“A few of my colleagues play so I decided to give it a try as well,” said 69-year-old UAE resident Robert, who was participating in the draw for the first time.
