Report refutes false claim of forced boarding in China s Xinjiang

It is entirely up to students and their parents to decide whether they would choose a boarding school or not, and there is no such thing as forced boarding, says a report refuting lies about Xinjiang released Friday.
The establishment of boarding schools in Xinjiang has nothing to do with de-radicalization, says the report, titled Slanderer Adrian Zenz s Xinjiang-related Fallacies Versus the Truth, released by the Xinjiang Development Research Center.
As Xinjiang covers a vast land area, villages and towns are often far apart from each other, creating inconvenience for students to attend school and a heavy burden on parents to pick up their children to and from school, the report explains.

BEIJING, April 30 (Xinhua) The Karakax List, a so-called name list cited by Adrian Zenz in his report that claimed 311 persons in Karakax, or Moyu of Xinjiang had been sent to vocational education centers, was completely fabricated by East Turkistan members, according to a research report.
After an investigation, relevant departments in northwest China s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region found that most of the 311 people on the list are residents of the Bostan subdistrict in Moyu County who have been working and living normally there, said the report, titled Slanderer Adrian Zenz s Xinjiang-related Fallacies Versus the Truth, released by the Xinjiang Development Research Center.
China s Xinjiang fully guarantees the rights of ethnic minority students to learn their own written and spoken languages, says a research report released Friday.
Based on the requirements of the national curriculum, Xinjiang has set up courses including Uygur, Kazak, Kirgiz, Mongolian and Xibe languages in primary and secondary schools, says the report, titled Slanderer Adrian Zenz s Xinjiang-related Fallacies Versus the Truth, released by the Xinjiang Development Research Center.
The courses have effectively promoted the inheritance and development of ethnic minority languages and cultures, the report says.

Has China’s chequebook diplomacy put it on the back foot?
China is often brazen about its ways and seldom cares to clear its stand. It is also unmindful of the enormous suffering it has brought the world. From here, if there is a course correction, it is one born out of necessity

Recently, Chinese President Xi Jinping addressed the leading cadre of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Xi said he believes “time and momentum are on China’s side”, despite challenges, such as COVID-19 and others.
Yet, behind the confident facade and posturing that China has adopted since the pandemic struck which has killed over 1,944,750 people worldwide and continues to crush global economy there may be a certain defensiveness. A couple of events hint at this.
