Several Tulip City high school sports teams remain in the rankings as the postseason nears for the spring season.
The Pella boys soccer team ranks 5th in Class 2A, according to the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association, while the Lady Dutch have moved to 12th in the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union poll.
Among tennis teams, the Pella boys are back up to No. 2 in Class 1A, as voted on by Iowa High School tennis coaches. Prior to their matchup Wednesday that went the way of the Eagles, Pella was ranked 5th and Pella Christian was ranked 6th among 1A girls tennis coaches.
The Mid-Prairie soccer teams are on the road Thursday when they travel to Williamsburg to meet the Raiders in a non-conference doubleheader. The Mid-Prairie boys come in at 7-1 for the year after suffering their first setback of the season, falling to No. 3 Iowa City Regina 6-2 in Wellman on Tuesday. Mid-Prairie got goals in the contest from Owen Trimpe and Gunnar Gingerich. The Hawks are ranked No. 5 in this week’s class 1A poll from the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association. For the year, Mid-Prairie is led by Owen Trimpe with 13 goals. Ethan Trimpe has a team best seven assists. In goal, Keaton Graber has made 15 saves for a 60% save percentage.

In their last match, they gave Cascade their first loss of the season, beating the Cougars 3-0 on two goals from Jack Pennington and one from Owen Trimpe. On the year, the Golden Hawks are led by Owen Trimpe with a dozen goals. Ethan Trimpe has the team lead with seven assists, 10th most in 1A. In goal, Keaton Graber has 14 saves with a 77.8% save percentage.
