Massive scientific efforts to tackle the impact of cattle burps on climate change has only tinkered around the edges of this major environmental problem, say Macquarie University researchers.
Greenhouse gas emissions from cattle are still on the rise despite sustained efforts over decades to reduce them, new Macquarie University research shows.
‘Burping machines’: Methane emissions from beef and dairy cattle have risen by 10 per cent since 1990 to 72.4 million tonnes in 2017.
Human geographer Dr Andrew McGregor, an Associate Professor in Macquarie’s Department of Social Sciences, led a team of researchers that traced 30 years of UN reports and scientific research aimed at mitigating the methane expelled by cattle when they burp – a process responsible for as much as 5.5 per cent of climate change-causing global emissions.

For more than a decade Bill Gates has funneled millions of dollars into a scientifically mad scheme allegedly to study the possibility of manmade global cooling. The project, led by a Harvard physicist, proposes to send satellites into the atmosphere in order to drop tons of chemicals in an attempt to block the sun. Now a strong resistance within Sweden has forced Gates & co. to abandon the planned Swedish satellite launch. This latest adventure in geoengineering by Gates shows what an unscientific enterprise the global warming charade is. As Gates no doubt well knows, in fact the Earth has slowly been cooling as we enter what some astrophysicists estimate could be several decades of global cooling

It s widely anticipated that President Joe Biden will use his Earth Day Summit on April 22 to announce his administration s climate commitment at November s Glasgow climate summit.
Biden is promising a whole-of-government approach to confronting the climate crisis that involves agencies and policy areas that have not traditionally been oriented with climate considerations as a top priority. This is a very encouraging start and certainly a sea change in rhetoric from the recent past.

For more than a decade Bill Gates has funneled millions of dollars into a scientifically mad scheme allegedly to study the possibility of “manmade global cooling.” The project, led by a Harvard physicist, proposes to send satellites into the atmosphere in order to drop tons of chemicals in an attempt to block the sun. Now a strong resistance within Sweden has forced Gates & co. to abandon the planned Swedish satellite launch. This latest adventure in geoengineering by Gates shows what an unscientific enterprise the global warming charade is. As Gates no doubt well knows, in fact the Earth has slowly been cooling as we enter what some astrophysicists estimate could be several decades of global cooling caused by a Grand Solar Minimum cycle we entered in 2020 .

As climate change liability
who is to blame increasingly lands in courtrooms around the globe, the Philippines Commission on Human Rights is taking a different and unique approach, investigating climate change impacts as a human rights infringement. The commission has held a series of hearings this year to investigate the role of fossil fuel companies (also known as “carbon majors“) in causing climate change, concealing climate science, delaying policy solutions, and facilitating the climate crisis of the Filipino people.
The most recent session was held in New York City on September 27-28, 2018, bringing together experts from a range of backgrounds including environmental law, human rights law, climate science, and public policy. The next session will be held in London this November.
