OSWEGO â Mayor Billy Barlow announced the Oswego City Youth Bureau will host another citywide at-home, outdoor chalk art contest on Saturday, June 19. Rain date is Saturday, June 26.
The event is for businesses, individuals, and families of all ages. Categories include, artists, family, and individuals of any age. There will be prizes for every category provided by local eateries like Pizza Villa, Stoneâs Candy and others. Judges (Youth Bureau and community members) will start at 1 p.m. (through 4 p.m.) to judge all the drawings. iHeart Oswego photographers will be out taking pictures of entries and the artists that drew them.
FULTON â Established in the fall of 2019, T1D Oswego County is a committee comprised of parents, professionals, and concerned community members, as well as persons with Type 1 Diabetes. T1D Oswego County was formed with a goal of bringing together the greater T1D community and providing local opportunities to connect and support each other throughout all stages of life.
The group planned to host a series of panel discussions and events titled T1D Connections. The series aims at bringing together individuals with Type 1 Diabetes of all ages, their family members, nurses and healthcare professionals, community leaders and others who wish to learn more about Type 1 Diabetes and connect to a support system. The first panel discussion, which offered attendees the opportunity to meet and interact with two different panel cohorts about their experience in living with Type 1 Diabetes, was a success. OSWEGO â Summer is right around the corner and with it comes the 75th camping season at Camp Hollis. The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau is getting ready by accepting applications for several open positions at the camp.
The following resident positions are currently available for the season, which runs from Sunday, June 20 through Friday, Aug. 13.
â Counselor: Candidates must have experience with organized camp, recreation or childcare.
â Lifeguard/counselor: Candidates must have current lifesaving and CPR certificates as well as experience in recreation or childcare.
â Senior kitchen helper/counselor: Candidates must have experience with supervision, kitchen work and childcare.
â Kitchen helper/counselor: Candidates must have experience with kitchen work and childcare.
