(CNS News) When asked whether illegal aliens should be given a pathway to citizenship, Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kans.) said, “No is the answer.”
At the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday,
CNS News asked the senator, “Should illegal aliens be given a pathway to citizenship?”
Senator Marshall said, “I think that no is the answer. No is the answer. I think that we need to work with DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) student recipients and try to figure out how to help them out, as well.”
“I think that we need to secure our border and fix our very broken immigration system,” he said.

President Biden said on Thursday night that he supported a plan championed by congressional Democrats to use a legislative process intended for budget-related measures to bypass Republican opposition and legalize millions of undocumented immigrants.
Senator Chuck Schumer, Democrat of New York and the majority leader, has been quietly exploring whether it would be possible to attach a broad revision of immigration laws to a $3.5 trillion budget plan that Democrats intend to pass unilaterally through a fast-track process known as budget reconciliation.

Obama is planning executive orders to extend DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) to the illegal immigrant parents. DACA provides actual amnesty, Sen. Sessions explained in a Friday news release. They are immune from deportation and receive IDs and work permits.
DACA already covers “children” up to 30 years. We originally reported that he was going to extend it to immigrants up to age 30 but that is already in place.

Earlier this week, Biden said it remains to be seen whether immigration could be included as part of a reconciliation bill, though lawmakers on Thursday said the president in their meeting voiced his strong backing for efforts to include it.
The White House later said in a statement that Biden and Vice President Harris expressed their strong support for including immigration reform in upcoming reconciliation legislation to enable Dreamers, TPS recipients, farmworkers and essential workers to gain long-awaited pathways to citizenship.
